What is PALS?

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is an advanced course by the American Heart Association (AHA) designed to teach healthcare professionals how to respond to critically ill or injured infants and children. The course focuses on early recognition, systematic assessment, and coordinated interventions to improve survival outcomes.

What You Will Learn

Core Skills and Topics:

  • Early recognition and treatment of respiratory and cardiac emergencies in children

  • Pediatric assessment tools (ABCs, pediatric assessment triangle, etc.)

  • High-quality CPR for infants and children

  • Management of shock, arrhythmias, and respiratory failure

  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation and drug administration

  • Post-resuscitation care

  • Team leadership and communication during pediatric code situations

  • Simulated pediatric code scenarios using real-life cases

Course Format & Duration

  • Duration: 8–10 hours (initial); 5–6 hours (renewal)

  • Format: In-person, interactive training with case simulations

  • Location: Friends Medical Training Center – Ramallah

  • Languages: Arabic / English

  • Certificate: AHA PALS certification card (valid for 2 years)

  • Includes: Student manual, skill checklists, pediatric megacode practice

Course Requirements

Before attending, participants should:

  • Have a valid BLS certificate (we offer BLS if needed)

  • Understand basic pediatric ECG rhythms and pharmacology

  • Complete the AHA PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment (link sent after registration)
