ECG Interpretation

What is ECG Interpretation?

ECG (Electrocardiogram) Interpretation is the skill of analyzing the electrical activity of the heart to detect arrhythmias, cardiac arrest rhythms, and signs of life-threatening conditions.

Why Is ECG Interpretation Important?

  • Helps identify cardiac emergencies early (e.g., VT, VF, asystole, bradycardia)

  • Guides decisions for medications, defibrillation, and advanced care

  • Critical for ER, ICU, anesthesia, and inpatient care professionals

  • Required for AHA ACLS/PALS certification

What You’ll Learn

    • Basics of ECG waves (P, QRS, T, PR interval, QT, etc.)

    • Recognizing normal vs. abnormal rhythms

    • Identifying:

      • Bradycardia / Tachycardia

      • Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) / Ventricular Tachycardia (VT)

      • Asystole / PEA

      • Atrial fibrillation / flutter

    • Steps for rhythm analysis and emergency response

    • Interpretation practice with real ECG strips & scenarios

Who Should Learn ECG Interpretation?

  • Medical and nursing students
  • Doctors, nurses, and paramedics in ER/ICU
  • Interns and residents preparing for exams or hospital duties
  • Anyone enrolled in ACLS/PALS training
