What is BLS?

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a professional-level course developed by the American Heart Association (AHA) for healthcare providers and first responders. It teaches high-quality CPR and essential skills needed to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies.

Whether you’re working in a hospital, clinic, ambulance, or attending a patient on-site, BLS prepares you to act fast—and save lives.

What You Will Learn

Core Skills Covered:

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Team-based resuscitation and communication skills

  • Managing airway obstructions (choking)

  • Recognition of cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and overdose situations

  • Recovery positions and post-resuscitation care basics

Course Format & Duration

  • Duration: 4 hours (approx.)

  • Delivery: In-person, hands-on training

  • Language: Arabic and/or English

  • Location: Friends Medical Training Center – Ramallah (or on-site for institutions)

  • Certificate: Official AHA certification (valid for 2 years)

  • Includes: Student manual, skills checklist, hands-on assessment
